Shiva Om Dear Friends,

In this regards there exists a great deal of misconception not only in the minds of the common man but also many a Astrologer. They have an assumption that a Pearl and a Yellow Sapphire can be worn by just anybody without any detailed study of the Horoscope.

This notion is rather foolhardy and there are a large number of cases who have lost out on a great deal on account of falling prey to this ill conceived theory. In one of my earlier answers I have clarified in regards to the Yellow Sapphire and as your question is specifically in regards to the Pearl, let me give you the truth pertaining to the use of the Pearl. There are many instances where the Pearl which is a representation of Moon can do more harm than good. This happens especially when the Moon is your “Marakesh, Badhakesh or Nashakesh” ( in a enemy position in your horoscope ). In such cases if you wear the Pearl you will only attract more negativity and call on yourself greater problems. Similarly, there are other instances also when you are not suggested to wear a Pearl.

A Pearl is ideally is to be worn when the Moon in your horoscope is benefic and is placed in a favourable house. There exist more detailed considerations which are to be ideally carried out by an experienced and knowledgeable Astrologer alone.

There exists another misconception among most that a Pearl is to be worn by just anybody who has a bad temper. There understanding is, that the moment one wears a Pearl he will calm down. This concept can work both ways. As mentioned earlier if the Moon in his Horoscope is situated in a favourable position you may very well achieve this result or else it could work to the contrary. It can lead one to be lethargic, moody and melancholic.

A Pearl like just any other Gemstone is a double edged sword. If worn with appropriate guidance it will work well for you and if not then you are most likely to land in a soup.

The finger and hand the Pearl needs to be worn in are again a matter of great debate and Astrologers have divergent views in regards of the same. However, an answer to this will also require a great deal of explaining and hence I will leave it for some other time for now.

I earnestly hope that the query you posed in regards to the wearing of the Pearl has been answered by my humble Blog.

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

This is one of the most sensitive frequently asked Questions in my profession. As the Indian mind has many divergent views on this issue and most of these views are sexist and explosive in nature.

Going strictly as per what the Holy Shiva Purana has to say, it has categorically stated that women must wear Rudraksha’s. It has elaborated no further. Leaving it to interpretation if women who have hit there puberty can wear Rudraksha’s or not.

Having read the scriptures and in my personal experience I am of the personal opinion that women can very well wear the Holy Rudraksha. The Almighty Shiva has bestowed this “Gem of a Bead” to the entire mankind regardless of sex, caste, creed, etc. This pious and holy bead is beyond all these man made divisions.

It is rather selfish of mankind to attribute some natural reasons to be causes for the fairer sex not to gain from the immense benefits this wonderful bead has to offer. I in my capacity of a Rudraksha proponent fully endorse Women to wear either a single or a combination or a Mala of the Rudraksha beads regardless of there age.

I earnestly hope that my friends agree with me and would propagate this view further.

Shiv Om Dear Friends,

The beauty of adorning any Mukhi Rudraksha is that it does not have any negative impact on the wearer irrespective of whether the person has taken any Astrological advice or not. You are wearing the most commonly found Rudraksha and that is the Pancha Mukhi Rudraksha, which is like a Multi Vitamin Supplement. The maximum amount of produce of Indian, Indonesian and Nepalese Rudraksha trees are always the Pancha Mukhi Rudraksha. They are found in abundance.

I only hope that you are not wearing an Indian Pancha Mukhi bead as they are manually drilled and hence desecrated ( Khandit / Bhanga ). Also hoping that you have strung it correctly as per its Head and Tail. Lastly, the due ritualistic procedure suggested for adorning any Mukhi Rudraksha has been duly followed.

If the fundamentals have been adhered to there is no reason whatsoever for it to cause you any harm. It will on the other hand give you peace of mind, good physical health and an overall sense of well being. So instead of doing harm it will only do good for you. All you need to do is believe in it without harbouring any kind of doubts. The faith has to be unflinching.

Just in case you have worn the Rudraksha without following the norms I have listed then it is best that you take the advice of a learned Astrologer or Pandit as to how you can rectify this error.

I earnestly hope that this Blog has put the query raised in the question at rest.

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

This is indeed a tricky situation. In the question no clarity has been provided if the bathroom is meant only for purely bathing purpose or also has a Commode/ Orissa Pan ( Indian Style Latrine ). Nevertheless, in both the scenarios one is not permitted to have a Pooja room or a Mandir below them. A false ceiling is no answer or solution to this vexing issue.

You will simply need to shift the place of the Pooja from below the bathroom. There are some other gimmicks followed by some Vastu Shastra consultants like placing or application of some copper wires or sheets in the ceiling or affixing some Pyramids in the ceiling, etc.

Kindly do not fall prey to any such foolhardiness. These are all no means in which this problem can be treated. You have to take a bold step and that is to simply shift the Pooja place to some other Vastu appropriate direction. This is a serious Vastu error and any amount of Vastu rectification does not resolve this problem. One has to simply accept this fact and as mentioned earlier shift the Pooja room at the earliest.

I earnestly hope that this Blog has given ample clarity in this matter to my esteemed reader.

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

This is not only an interesting but also a tricky question.First of all it is important to understand that a Diamond denotes or signifies the planet Venus ( Shukra ). Strictly speaking from the Astrological perspective the most appropriate Gemstone for this planet is an original Diamond.

A Synthetic Diamond is certainly cheaper but Astrologically speaking not an alternative to a real Diamond. Astrologically, an original Zircon, Opal or even a clean and Clear Quartz can be regarded as substitutes or alternatives to a Real Diamond. When opting for these valid substitute Gemstones one must ensure that the Gemstone is of impeccable quality and is of higher Carat weight.

The man made factor in the Synthetic Diamond takes away all its glory and renders it to be a listless Gemstone from the Astrological point of view.

I have in the course of my professional practice as an Astrologer seen many a client try out these lab grown Diamonds for Astrological purposes on the advice of some other Astrologers. These clients did not reap any favourable results from the Synthetic Diamonds. They found it to be a pure waste of money.

On my advice to rather opt for the cheaper alternatives on account of their financial constraints in buying an appropriate superior quality Diamond of a certain Carat Weight, they did actually reap very good results which were ideally due to them.

I earnestly hope that this Blog has clarified any misconception one may harbor in terms of the use of Synthetic Diamonds for the purpose of Astrology.

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

This is indeed a mighty tricky question. Let me attempt to answer the same with my limited knowledge and experience. First of all many of my fellow Vastu Shastra consultants would opine that you should not make an underground facility in the first place at all. I differ with this view as having read almost most of the classical texts like the Maymatam, Mansara, Kamika Agam, Vishwakarma Prakash, Manusalyachandrika, etc., none of them have negatively commented on an underground in either a residential or commercial premise. Rather it has always been noticed that Palaces and Forts have always have had underground set ups. Most of them have had some of the best Vastu Shastra consultants and I am sure they would not make such a glaring error, if having an underground was so bad in the first place.

In fact many a Rich and Wealthy businessman also had undergrounds for the purpose of storage of their Wealth and Grains. Some used these underground enclaves for the purpose of solace for their Meditative Pursuits.

If you feel like making an underground house and living in it you are free to do so as long as you adhere to Vastu Shastra norms and are of course well ventilated. Ventilation is normally the challenge in underground premises along with draining of sewage. As long as you have worked these two aspects out I personally as a Vastu Shastra consultant would not object to you living underground.

Obviously, you will need to adhere to other regular Vastu Shastra norms which apply to all other regular Vastu’s / Premises.

I earnestly hope that this Blog has cleared any doubts that may persist in your minds in regards to underground construction.

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

Undisputedly, it is the Burma Ruby which has the colour of the freshly spilled blood of a “Pigeon” as per modern gemological lingo. As per the classical texts the colour of the Ruby should be like a well developed and ripened Pomegranate seed. There needs to be transparency in the Gem along with minimum intrusions.

If other factors like the Cut, Carat, etc are also superior then its cost is mind blowing. Those who are truly inclined towards Gems of this quality and understand this pedigree however don’t mind coughing up the kind of money it commands.

Alongside it is important to bear in mind two more factors in regards to the Ruby. The first one is that it should be a fresh piece and thereby not worn by anybody else. As a used Ruby or for that matter any other Gemstone is not considered auspicious.

Secondly, the Ruby should have a powerful, positive and pulsating “Aura”. It should have a “Life Force” in it. This is best understood only by those Astrologers who have a Spiritual base.

One needs to be careful with a new term coined by traders called “New Burma” Rubies which are nothing but “Treated / Heated” Rubies. Do not fall prey to them. They are amply available in Bangkok and now from Bangkok they have found their way all around the world. They look stunning but are tampered pieces. Then there are “Glass filled” or “Feather Treatments” which are all best avoided.

These tampered Rubies are cheaper in cost and many a person on account of financial limitation prefers to purchase these Rubies. My only advice to them is that there are other kinds of Rubies which are natural and still not expensive. You should ideally opt for them. Ask your Astrologer to guide you in this regard. Ideally visit an Astrologer who has studied Gemology. This combination helps you in many other ways.

I earnestly hope that this Blog has helped you gain a better insight in the world of Rubies.

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

This is indeed a burning and urgent topic which needs attention by all those who are either interested in the field of Rudraksha’s or deal in them or are Astrologers / Numerologist’s/ Palmists, etc. Not many are aware of the answer to this. Rather most will misguide you in this regard.

Off late there is a super large Rudraksha bead coming from Indonesia which is called “Pappua”, which was initially thought to be hybrid. This is however, not the case. The bead is Mega size naturally. The size is not on account of any kind of tampering. The area it comes from which itself is known as “Pappua” and hence the bead has got this name. The area from where this bead hails from is dangerous in nature and not many outsiders venture into this area. Not anticipating this Mega sized bead to be natural many a trader started making tall claims of this bead being a Hybrid bead. This is baseless and untrue.

However, off late all through Indonesia grafting has begun rampant practice and on account of this you will get to see some Hybrid beads. The effects of the same are certainly not going to be good. The reason is simple and straightforward. One should not tamper with Mother Nature as she knows best what to do. If she has formed a particular format it is best that we adhere to it, rather than try some funny monkey tricks with it. I have personally witnessed grafting and it is rampant in Indonesia.

In Indonesia Rudraksha’s grow in many different islands. Every island grows varied qualities of beads. The farmers have now started grafting superior bead plants to inferior bead plants which are commonly available. In a short course of time the market will be flooded by beads which are borne out of grafted Rudraksha trees.

Hence, I make it a point to travel personally to the central Java islands and make my purchases after having ascertained with my own eyes and knowledge that my purchases are not from grafted trees. We at Eshan’s pride ourselves with the best beads from Indonesia and in order to do so we are willing to walk the extra mile.

The good or bad affects of these grafted beads will be really known only with a further passage of time and more experiences. We will need greater statistics to come to some kind of a conclusion in regards to the same.

If you are interested in seeing the grafting process do subscribe to my Youtube channel on the given link below

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

This is indeed an interesting question as I have come across various clients wearing this kind of a weird combination of Gemstones. In my limited understanding of both Astrology as well as Gemology I would strongly advise you to choose either the Hessonite which represent Rahu or the Ruby which represents the Almighty Sun as per your Astrological chart rather than wearing both of them together.

As fundamentally these Grahas and there by their respective Gemstones do not see each other in the eye. They are sworn enemies. There own internal dual will only further heighten your own problems rather than solve them. You will need to consult a seasoned and well read Astrologer as to ascertain which of these two actually suit you. You will then need to clearly choose one of these rather than wearing these warring Gemstones together. You will land up getting caught badly in the cross fire.

This fundamental is not set to change and hence I opine that one should not wear these two Gemstones together.

I earnestly hope that this Blog has been both meaningful and useful to my erudite reader.

Shiva Om Dear Friends,

Out of the scores of questions that I have answered on the subject of Rudraksha, I think that this is one of the most interesting one’s.

A person having suffered skin disease has for very realistic and genuine reasons removed the Rudraksha Mala. As long as he has done so only out of this medical condition and not on account of any disdain or disbelief in the Mala he is free to re wear the Mala after having performed a “Rudra Abhishek” of the Mala. I suggest performing the “Rudra Abhishek” as it will re energise the Mala and also re establish its connection with the wearer.

During such occasions one needs to simply ensure that the Rudraksha Mala is stored in a clean and neat place. I prefer the Pooja place at home to be the most ideal. Further, in the course of this period the person concerned can offer prayers to the Mala by chanting its Beej ( Seed ) Mantra. This helps in both maintain the spiritual connect with the Mala and also ensuring that the energy levels of the Mala at its prime.

It is imperative to bear in mind that in this interim period nobody else should use the Mala.

I earnestly hope that this Blog has answered this rather tricky question to my reader’s satisfaction.
