The “Mangal Phalak” is one of the oldest and hottest selling Maha Yantram from the stable of Eshans Emporium for the last two decades. It is primarily affixed both from the outside and the inside of the Main Door of residential as well as commercial premises. As the name suggests, it ensures the smooth flow of positive energies into the premise and also blesses the person leaving the premise with varied affirmative energies. It is placed on the Main Door as the Main Door is the primary entry point of all things tangible and intangible.

By and large each individual takes great efforts to ensure that the Main Door is Sanctified and Secured as per the Shastras, but unfortunately as they are not adept at the same hence are unable to do so. The “Mangal Phalak” on the contrary has been designed bearing in mind the categorical descriptions provided in the classical texts and on what should adorn the area above the Main Door.

To fulfill this need we have specially developed the “Mangal Phalak”.  The word “Mangal Phalak” when translated from Sanskrit into English means “Auspicious plank” and hence we have titled it “The Auspicious Initiator”. We have endeavored to embody the various particulars stipulated in the numerous classical texts in “The Auspicious Initiator” so that the Main entrance is blessed with it’s relevant aspects.

Translations of the various Shlokhas from ancient scriptures are given ahead for your reference on the basis of which the auspicious “Mangal Phalak” has been crafted.

1. Above the head of the door, the plank (called Mangal Phalak) should be placed with the sculptured images of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Laxmi ….

2. On the right (leaf) should be made (the image of) Ganesha (the god of success), and on the left (that of) Saraswati (the goddess of learning)

3. Above the Main Door in the center a figure of goddess Laxmi should be carved. She should be featured sitting on a lotus, with a lotus in hand, adorned with jewels and gems. She should be flanked by two beautiful elephants on either side, bathing her.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ELEMENTS ON THE MANGAL PHALAK
The Mangal Phalak is painted in a superior quality antique gold paint. This colour is synonymous with opulence and prosperity. It also gives the “Mangal Phalak” a rich and classy aesthetic look.

LORD GANESHA: Lord Ganesha, as Vighnaharta graces the “Mangal Phalak” while atop a fully bloomed lotus with his left turned trunk, Snake around his belly, Mouse at his foot, Modak as his prasad, the “Abhay Mudra” where he is blessing his devotees. He is the primary deity to be worshipped prior to any other. Any initiation blessed by him is bound to be successful. As the Vighnaharta he banishes all obstacles, tangible as well as intangible. As part of the “Mangal Phalak” he blesses all the occupants with his divine benediction ensuring a smooth passage way in life for his devotee which invariably leads to happiness, peace and a feeling of being cocooned under the protection of the almighty.

GODDESS LAXMI: Goddess Laxmi the bestower of Wealth and Prosperity, is present in all her splendour on the “Mangal Phalak”. She is seated on a lotus, representing the “Padma Laxmi” which is the form of a stable and secure Mata Mahalaxmi. She is flanked by two elephants who bathe her in praise giving rise to the form of “Gaj Laxmi”, ensuring her consistent presence. The Mudras of her hands represent the “Dhana Laxmi” who showers her devotees with affluence and abundance. The Maha laxmi on the “Mangal Phalak” is thus a threefold representation of the goddess and her blessings.

GODDESS SARASWATI: Goddess Saraswati, the fountain of knowledge and learning is depicted in her serene form, sitting atop a lotus with her Veena in her hands; Granths ( Classical texts ) in another and a Rosary to meditate in another hand denoting concentration of thought and action. She is the symbol of wisdom and invites intellectual wealth into the premises. She promulgates the occupants into actively participating in scholarly pursuits and enhancing their minds bandwidth consistently. She helps children perform well in academics. Adults are blessed with the distinction of making erudite and accurate decisions. Even they will make an earnest effort in improvising upon there cerebral achievements. Goddess Saraswati showers her blessings of knowledge on all the occupants of the Vastu.

LIONS: They are the undisputed Kings of the jungle who are resplendent with Royalty. The Main Door / Mukhya Dwar of any premise is also referred to as the “Simha Dwar” in the science of Vastu Shastra. Thereby the lions bestow the Vastu with grandeur and the same time protect it with a fierceness akin to a lion alone.

The lion is not only a royal beast but also is the guardian of the Main Door and in turn the protector of the entire premise. He stands guard, turning back unwanted elements by its strength and power. Considering this role, the lion finds a place on either side of the Mangal Phalak.

AUM: The most powerful symbol of Hinduism, “Aum” is considered to encapsulate the experience of the whole universe and all its energies. It is the beginning of all sounds as well as the end. It is “Sat-Chit-Anand: Truth-Wisdom-Bliss, and the three alphabets of Aum, “A – U – M” represent this. They also represent the trinity in its varied forms. In Hinduism the Holy Trinity are: Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. The Trinity of the Body, Mind and the Soul. The Trinity of Birth, Experiences and Death, as well as the trinity present on the “Mangal Phalak”, namely Lord Ganesh, Goddess Mahalaxmi and Goddess Saraswati. The Aum is that dynamic emblem which attracts and channelizes all Cosmic Energises into your Vastu and maintains a constant ebb of vivacious tides of the same.

SWASTIKA: The Swastika is another power packed iconic symbol in Hinduism. It represents the Telluric energies. In the “Mangal Phalak”, it enhances positive energies to phenomenal levels in the Vastu. The four aspects of the Swastika are known to denote the four cardinal directions, namely, the North, South, East and West. The four Vedas, namely, Rig, Sama, Atharva and Yajur Veda and also the four steps of Karma which are, Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. It symbolises the cyclical pattern of life. Some important points that need to be taken into consideration while putting up the “Mangal Phalak”:

A. The “Mangal Phalak” can be placed on the Main Doors or other forms of entry of rental homes or commercial premises. One from the outside and one from the inside needs to be affixed. In case you change the premise, you can carry “The Mangal Phalak” along with you and place it in the new premise.
B. It can be placed above / on doors or shutters facing any direction.
C. In cases where more than one door is used often then in such cases it is suggested that one adorns “Mangal Phalak’s” for each of the doors.
D. Once affixed in its place it is extremely uncommon that a “Mangal Phalak” cracks / chips/ breaks, etc. However, during any such turn of events you need to immerse the “Desecrated / Khandit / Bhang” Mangal Phalak and immerse it in clean flowing water or place it at a Shivalinga of any ancient temple after offering “Kshama Yachna” (asking for forgiveness).
